Konstantin Prishep was born in Belarus, Minsk, moved to America when he was nine, residing in several places from New York City to Oakland, CA and currently resides in Berlin, Germany. Konstantin’s work explores the confines of urban/social space and pushes the possibilities of imagining a new dynamic between citizens and public / cultural space with the intention of fostering empowerment, connection to ecology and social change.
His interest is to change the practice of art from detachment to engagement and enable interactive, participatory works to challenge the present social systems in the time and place surrounding us.
His past works featured living plant walls, in urban corridors, interactive info-graphic environments, pop-up autonomous public zones, and polemic interrogations of urban relationships to ecology.
